Setting up a Google Analytics Account
Follow the steps below to set up a Google Analytics Account. This Tutorial assumes that you have previously set up a Google Account. If you have not done this, please do so before following these steps.
- Go to the Google Analytics Sign Up page
- Sign in with your Google Account
- Click the Sign Up button on the left hand side
- Fill in the fields with your website information and click Continue
- Add your contact information and click Continue
- Read the Terms of Service
- If you agree, click the Yes check box
- Click Create New Account
- You will then be provided with the code that you will need to paste before the closing </body> tag of every page on your website that you wish to track
- Copy and paste this code to your website and click Continue
- Your account is now added, you will have to wait a while for Google to begin collecting data from your website
- Check back in a while and click View Reports
- Here you will find every statistic you could possibly need to gauge the success of your website
