Google Analytics provides a ton of useful information for webmasters.  This information can be used to gauge the success of web strategies.  By having all types of statistics about users and web pages, a webmaster can change, add, or delete content based on the hard data provided.  In the past we have had to guess or use less informative and less organized server statistics.  With Google Analytics providing usable metrics, it is much easier to know what strategies are working and what needs to be improved.

Below is a list of just some information that can be viewed in the Google Analytics Account :

  • Information on the amount of visitors daily, weekly, monthly
  • Visitor information such as where visitors came from, how long they stayed, what computer and operating systems they're on, and more
  • Traffic information with a break down of search engine, referring sites, and direct traffic stats
  • Content information with information on your most popular pages, your least popular pages, top exit pages, top entry pages, and more

These statistics will provide information that is useful to webmasters as well as business owners.  In a business where it is tough to provide hard results for clients, providing these stats will allow SEO's to prove their worth.  The Google Webmaster Tools Account is a must have for those serious about Search Engine Optimization.
